APC EXPO
ANNUAL PAINTING & CREATIVE EXPO
JUNE 23 – 27, 2026
TRUSSVILLE, AL
2026 TEACHER CONTRACT
Sweet Home Christmas – Est. 1836
1. APC EXPO requires projects to be NEW and never taught online or in person prior to June 24 – 27, 2026. Except for ONE practice teach, within 100 miles of home and in person.
The packet cannot be sold until after the class takes place and if you book the project with a group, they cannot advertise it until AFTER the convention is over. Packets may be
sold at the expo after the class has been taught.
2. If you need to cancel your class for ANY reason other than 4 students or less, please contact Kole Hunt at
[email protected],
[email protected] or
937-343-4440. If possible, if there is another teacher that can teach your class project in your place this option would be entertained.
3. You understand that you are submitting to teach
Wednesday June 23, 2026– Saturday June 27, 2026. If you will be having a booth every consideration will be made to work this into your schedule, but there are no guarantees as to when classes will be scheduled.
4. Classes will be three (3) hours, four (4) hours, and six (6) hours.
Keep in mind that there will be a very LIMITED number of 3- and 6-hour classes. Most students should be able to complete the project within the class time allowed.
5. The teacher will be paid $4 per hour per student – i.e., 4 hr. class = $16 per student. The teacher agrees to accept up to 25 students per class. The teacher will be paid for no-shows.
6. When pricing your project on the Project Data Sheet, remember that the class fee will be added to the project cost. i.e. 3 hr. class adds $22 – 4 hr. class adds $26 and 6 hr. class adds $34. Keeping the total price of your class in mind will help with enrollment in that class.
7. Teachers will be updated with a class count on a regular basis. If a class is not performing as expected or there is a surface supply issue, the class can be capped at a lower number.
8. Teachers may not use class time for selling or promoting anything other than the necessary supplies for the class they are teaching.
9. The teacher must provide each student with a painting surface, paint, medium, written instructions, and at least 1 color photograph for each project taught. Nothing should be
included in the photo that is not included in the class fee.
10. Teachers may submit up to 5 projects. The number of projects selected per teacher will
be at the discretion of APC EXPO.
11. All submissions are due by 11:59 pm Central Time on September 5, 2025.
12. When photographing your submissions please use a plain background, take the picture straight on so there are no cast shadows and no extra light distractions. Your photo sells
your class. If possible it can be helpful to take your photos outdoors on a bright but overcast day.
13. We will be asking for volunteers to help monitor classes. There will be a place on each project sheet to mark if you would like us to try to find a monitor for that class, if
selected. It is always a nice gesture if you have a volunteer monitor to reward them with at least the packet from class, and sometimes the surface. It is not required that you use
monitors we recruit; you are welcome to use your own monitors.
14. Teachers will provide a class sample to be displayed for the duration of the convention. Information on drop off etc. will be communicated closer to convention time.
15. Remember you are representing not only yourself but APC Expo, please always conduct yourself in a professional manner, both in words and actions.
